EMPLOYMENT FACILITATION
As part of our Local Content Policy, we have launched the GED Africa Job Portal to drive economic growth and sustainability in the regions we operate. This platform enhances recruitment efficiency and supports local businesses, ensuring that the benefits of the KMTR project reach our host communities.
Key Features of the GED Africa Job Portal:
The GED Africa Job Portal serves as a centralized hub for recruiting employees and sourcing services from local businesses. With numerous stakeholders involved in the KMTR project, we recognized the need for a dynamic approach to recruitment, catering to both employment and subcontracting needs. This portal streamlines operations and maximizes project efficiency while staying true to our promise of fostering economic growth in the region.
We are proud to exceed the mandatory 20% workshare requirement by committing to engage local contractors for 30% of the project work.
This commitment is not just a target but a strategic effort to ensure that the economic benefits of the KMTR project are deeply rooted in the local communities. By utilizing the GED Africa Job Portal, local contractors can easily register, present their capabilities, and apply for relevant project opportunities. This process not only empowers local businesses but also ensures that the project leverages local knowledge and resources, fostering a more sustainable and inclusive economic environment.
SUSTAINABILITY OVERVIEW

A project of this magnitude will create part-time and full-time jobs in both the short- and long-term, increase skills and expertise transfer and boost local and cross-border trade and associated economic growth through enhanced regional connectivity.
The collaboration between GED Africa and the governments of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Zambia is further aligned with the UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The communities surrounding the project area are our most important stakeholders.
