Financial Literacy WORKSHOPS

GED Africa is committed to supporting communities affected by the KMTR project by offering financial literacy workshops to help Project Affected People (PAPs) and Project Affected Households (PAHs) manage their finances effectively.
In partnership with Trust Merchant Bank (TMB) in the DRC and NatSave in Zambia, we provide hands-on training that covers essential financial skills. Participants learn how to budget as a family, invest for the future, make sustainable financial choices and manage their funds securely. These workshops also guide participants in registering for mobile bank accounts, helping them access formal banking services and build long-term economic resilience.

Workshop Highlights:
  • Defining needs, wants and investments
  • Budgeting as a family
  • Investing for the future
  • Secure money management
  • Mobile banking registration

The educational materials used in these workshops were developed in-house, with direct input from the communities and the banks. By promoting financial literacy, GED Africa aims to ensure that communities are better equipped to handle the economic opportunities the KMTR project brings to the region, leading to greater financial stability and improved livelihoods.
